David Matthews
Dr David Matthews is Chairman of the Oxford Centre for Diabetes Endocrinology and Metabolism (OCDEM) and holds a combined NHS and University appointment. He is interested in the delivery of high standards of care to patients. Dr Matthews divides his time between his clinical consultation responsibilities and his research interests. He has published extensively in the fields of insulin resistance, beta cell function, mathematical modelling, pulsatile endocrinology and clinical care. In the past, Dr Matthews was Chairman of the Central Oxford Research Ethics Committee, has been a member on both the British Diabetic Association's Organising and Grants Committees. He is the convenor of the annual Diabetes Symposium in Oxford and is the Regional Organiser for Continuing Medical Education. Dr Matthews is invited to speak internationally and is well known for his work on pulsating hormones.
