    Rob Baggott
    Rob Baggott is a Professor of Public Policy and Director of the Health Policy Research Unit (HPRU) at De Montfort University Leicester. His main research interests are public health, patient and public involvement and health service reform. He has published a number of books including Public Health: Policy and Politics (2000), Health and Health Care in Britain (3rd edition, 2004), Speaking for Patients and Careers (2004, with Allsop and Jones) and a large number of academic articles. Rob is the principal investigator for the CIH project in Leicester.


    Judith Tanner
    Professor Judith Tanner has a joint post between De Montfort University and University Hospitals of Leicester, where she is the Chair of Nursing Research. Her background is in operating room nursing and her research focuses primarily on hospital acquired infections, such as surgical site infections. Her work has shown the impact of a high body mass index on surgical site infections and Judith is keen to address the issue of body mass index in the community. Judith is a core team member of the Leceistershire CIH project.


    Denis Anthony
    Denis Anthony is a Professor of Nursing at De Montfort University. He is by training a mental health nurse and adult (medical-surgical) nurse. His research interests are based in the use of quantitative methods, especially the evaluation of risk. Examples of his work include the optimisation of risk assessment scores, especially in wound care. Other areas have included risk assessment of offending in young people, and risk of hospital acquired infection.


    Kathryn Jones
    Kathryn Jones is Senior Research Fellow of Public Policy and a core member of the Health Policy Research Unit (HPRU) at De Montfort University Leicester. Her main research interests include user involvement and patient groups; public participation and professional regulation. She is a member of the Political Studies Association. Kathryn is a trained information scientist and has specialist skills in systematic reviewing. She is a co-investigator for the CIH project in Leicester.


    Hala Evans
    Hala Evans is a Senior Research Fellow and a member of the Health Policy Research Unit (HPRU) at De Montfort University Leicester. Her main research interests are children’s mental health, ethnic diversity and health, children’s health and adolescent behaviour. She likes travelling, reading and learning about people, places and cultures. Hala is a project manager for the CIH project in Leicester.



    Gill Perkins
    Gill Perkins is Research Fellow for CIH within the Health Policy Research Unit (HPRU) at De Montfort University, Leicester. She completed her PhD in health-related exercise physiology in 2007 and worked as a Research Fellow at Canterbury Christ Church University before joining the CIH team in August 2009. Her research interests include the role of physical activity in primary prevention of cardiovascular disease, and the evaluation of interventions in order to inform public health policy.


    Hilary Clark
    Hilary Clark is the CIH administrator. Her duties involve a range of clerical and administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the project office, including the organisation and servicing of research meetings, external and internal liaison with other researchers and community partners and agencies and assisting the research team with organising data collection, intervention and dissemination events. She is also the first point of contact for enquiries regarding the project in Leicester.


    Priti Meredith
    Priti Meredith is the research administrator for the Health Policy Research Unit (HPRU) at De Montfort University. Her duties include administration and research support for members and staff associated with the Unit, disseminating information within the health research network of the University, internal networking and liaising with external researchers, health organisations and funding bodies. She also assists with the preparation of research bids, reports and current research proposals, and RAE submissions. She compiles and edits the HPRU electronic newsletter.
