Around the world chronic diseases account for more than 34 millions of unnecessary deaths every year. And the number is rising. In addition to early deaths, there is untold suffering from the physical and mental, as well as economic, affects of these diseases.

Urgent Action is needed to turn this around. We must change both hearts and minds and pockets to fight the pandemic of chronic diseases. Our mission is to collect and highlight stories which tell the many tales of fighting and living with chronic diseases.

Facts and figures are very impressive. Statistics are the language of economists and politicians. Neither facts nor numbers can speak to the human reality. Nor can they portray the whole picture. It is only through personal stories that the mosaic of chronic diseases -- causes, treatments, prevention, research, policy -- comes to life.

3four50 is ready to take up this challenge.

We will travel to seek out the people and their stories. We will amplify these stories through the media -- old and new.Along the way, we will be promoting the message of healthy living and the call for prevention of unnecessary illness. Our challenge is to collect 1 million stories. and unleash an unstoppable force for change.
