Workshop for Healthy workplaces

A stakeholders workshop on healthy workplaces was organized on 30th Sep. 2008 in Chandigarh, India. It was a collaborative effort of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Confederation of Indian Induatries (CII) and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare India.
It was a first of its kind workshop that focused on creation of healthy workplaces and developing a model for them. Apart from the formal lectures; the key activity was the group discussion for the final shaping up of the model and ways to develop a action plan so that it could beadopted in other parts of the country also.
This workshop has placed a stepping stone in the direction of creating healthy workplaces in Indian settings, an issue which was not an area of attention earlier.
