Community Interventions for Health (CIH)

CIH, the action arm of the Oxford Health Alliance, is about tackling 3 risk factors (tobacco use, physical inactivity and poor diet) by focusing on structural interventions in multiple settings - schools, health centres, workplaces and communities.

The components of the intervention include:

  • 1) community coalition-building;
  • 2) health education; and
  • 3) structural change (e.g. policy, environmental, economic).
