The OxHA Annual Summit '06 was a working meeting to promote the cause of chronic disease prevention and change the course of the epidemic of chronic disease globally. In particular, it focused on the prevailing conditions and implications for developing economies and the case for intervention.
Co-hosted with the Medical Research Council of South Africa and the University of Cape Town, the summit took place in Cape Town on the 20-22 November 2006. It built on the progress made at the three previous summits, particularly the 'transition to action' that was launched at Yale in 2005 - continuing to strengthen the evidence base while also working actively to combat the epidemic of chronic disease.
