Background: Dr Hassen Ghannem is a Medical Doctor specialised in Preventive and Community Medicine, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Sousse, Tunisia. He had completed a Master degree in Community and Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine of the Montreal University, Canada in 1987. Current Position: Titular Professor of Preventive & Community Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of Sousse, Tunisia and Head of the Department of Epidemiology at the University Hospital Farhat Hached. Career Interests: Study of epidemiologic transition and its consequences in terms of chronic disease extension in Tunisia particularly cardiovascular disease. Study of Health Research capacity assessment and strengthening in developing countries.
