Sailesh Mohan has trained in medicine (MD) and public health (MPH). He currently works as a Senior Research Fellow at the Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies of the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum, India and is involved in full time public health research and teaching. He has been involved in chronic disease research for the past 6 years and has published in national and international peer reviewed journals as well as presented papers at several international conferences. He has a strong career commitment to full time public health research and academic teaching in chronic non-communicable disease epidemiology, particularly risk factors and their modification with specific focus on tobacco and hypertension control. He is a member of the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco (SRNT) and the Oxford Heath Alliance (OxHA). In addition, also serves as the Co-Principal Investigator of the CAPCoD… now Community Interventions for Health (CIH) India-Kerala project.
