I've just got back from a couple of days in New York - one of the most walkable cities on Earth (36,000 steps on two consecutive days, according to my pedometer...). The High Line park, of which this is a photo, is the most fabulous bit of urban regeneration - the transformation of an old freight train line, disused since 1980, into a wonderful park.

Warning: strtotime() [function.strtotime]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'Europe/London' for 'BST/1.0/DST' instead in /home/three450/public_html/v2/_includes/functions.php on line 135

This is such a good idea. They should do this in all cities - I nominate Paris first, as there just aren't enough green spaces there.
